Fresh meals, focused students
Nearly 1 in 4 undergraduates face food insecurity, according to The Hope Center for Student Basic Needs. Many students balance classes, jobs and family responsibilities, and a nourishing meal can be hard to fit in. Our weekly meals help them stay focused on their studies and ambitions.
Inspired by Srila Prabhupada's vision that no one should go hungry, and by Akshaya Patra's legacy of serving fresh meals at scale, World Food Movement serves freshly cooked vegetarian meals every week at Middlesex College, Rutgers University–Newark and Essex County College in New Jersey, and Medgar Evers College, Kingsborough Community College and the College of Staten Island in New York. More than 70,000 meals have been served so far.
